Find the right people. Get their real work email.

Sidedoor finds the right people for you, gets an email you can trust, and drafts a note built on what you have in common. You press send.

Why Sidedoor

Your next job often starts with a conversation.

More than half of US workers say they got their job through a personal or professional connection, and employers say about a quarter of their hires come from employee referrals. Sidedoor helps you start conversations to land your next job, or your first.

How it works

Three steps, about two minutes to start

  1. 01

    Tell us about you

Add your resume and answer a few questions about the industries, roles and companies you're after. It's optional, but the more you add, the better your suggestions.

  2. 02

    Find people who fit

Get suggestions from your resume and goals, or search by company, role, school or past employer. You see each person's title, company and what you share, and searching is free.

  3. 03

    Unlock their name and email

Use a credit to unlock a person's name and work email, with an honest label. You get a ready draft to open in Gmail. Read it, edit it, and send it.

Why it works

Built to get replies

Honest email labels

Every email comes with a clear label.

  • VerifiedA check confirmed the mailbox exists.
  • LikelyMatches a format confirmed at that company.
  • Best guessOur best reading, and a bounce is refunded.
  • Real common ground

If the data shows you went to the same school or worked at the same firm, your draft says so. We never make a connection up.

  • Replies stay high

Each person is unlocked by only a few people a month, so the people you write to aren't buried in the same request.

  • A bounce is covered

If an email bounces and our own re-check agrees the mailbox doesn't exist, your credit comes back automatically.

  • Suggestions that fit you

Companies and roles you hadn't thought of, based on your resume and what you told us you're after.

  • Your outreach, tracked

Unlocked, sent, replied, bounced. Everyone you've contacted in one place, and you can export it any time.

  • You send every email

Sidedoor never reads your inbox or sends mail for you, and there is no open or click tracking.

Who it's for

Any industry, any company

Students, career changers and people on the move, aiming at anything from investment banking to sports to biotech. These are only examples: if you can name the company or the role, you can search for it.

Credits

Searching is free. A credit unlocks the person.

You see everyone's title, company and what you share before you spend anything. When someone is worth contacting, one credit reveals their name and work email and gives you a draft. If we can't find an email or it bounces, you aren't charged.

FAQs

Does Sidedoor send the emails?

No. You send every email from your own account. Sidedoor never connects to your inbox, never sends mail for you, and has no open or click tracking.

What does a credit buy?

One credit unlocks one person: their name, a work email with its label, and a ready-to-edit draft. Searching and Discover are free, so you can look as much as you like. If we can't find an email or it bounces, you aren't charged.

How accurate are the email addresses?

Every address carries a label. Verified means a provider or checker confirmed the mailbox exists. Likely means the company's mail can't be checked directly but the address matches a format confirmed at that company. If we can't back an address up that well, we don't give it to you and you aren't charged.

What if an email bounces?

Mark it as bounced. We re-check the address ourselves: if the mailbox really doesn't exist, your credit comes back automatically. If it does exist, there's no refund, but you can ask for a person to review it. For companies whose mail can't be checked, a small number of refunds each month are automatic.

Which industries and companies does it cover?

Any. Banking, consulting, law, policy and tech are just the examples we know best. If a company has people with professional profiles and a work email, you can search for them. Coverage is strongest at mid-size and large employers, and contacts are US-based.

I'm a student. Is Sidedoor for me?

Yes. Whether you're after an internship, your first job or your next one, the people who can tell you how they got in are the same. Pick Student as your current employer and your school does the rest.
